Multipack

A Community of Web Developers & Designers in Birmingham

Welcome again to news of things web-media-based in Birmingham and the West Midlands. Breaking with tradition, this March Newsletter is actually delivered in February. I blame leap years.

Newsletter: March

Meeting

Next meeting is 2pm Saturday the 8th of March at the Old Joint Stock in Birmingham.

Topics for this meeting include: What’s going on at SXSW, 2 Years of YUI and the iPhone SDK. As added incentive to turn up, Si has some Yahoo! swag to give away!

Running and Rugby

Si, the man to blame for Multipack, has launched a couple of sites this month in his spare time away from being a Yahoo developer.

Elf Runners – Running the reading half marathon for the Elimination of Leukemia. That’s this Sunday, so if you still have a chance to sponsor them if you’re quick.

Euro Kickoff – The sequel to his successful World Cup Kickoff. Get your Rugby match times in iCal, Outlook or nicely micro-formatted HTML.

Big Win For Local Lads

One Black Bear snagged themselves the Subaru Digital Account. Well done to all involved!

They’re hiring as a result of expansion, and need some account managing types. If you know anybody who might be interested, drop Ross and Gareth a line.

Music to PHP Ears

Darren Beale got in contact about a talk he’s giving: “An Introduction to Symfony, the PHP5 framework”. It’s on the 11th of March at PSI Connect in Harbourne as part of the phpwm.org regional PHP developers network.

He also mentioned that Siftware in Upton-upon-Severn are looking for a Project Manager: http://www.siftware.co.uk/jobs/
