Multipack

A Community of Web Developers & Designers in Birmingham

Hello to all you folks out there in web land! This is the new Multipack newsletter. We’re trying to keep these regular and a bit more content-rich than before.

We’ll be keeping you up to date with what’s been going on in the Midlands web design and development community. The newsletter is now timed to hit your inbox a week before the next meeting, so you’ll know what’ll be discussed.

Newsletter: February

Meeting

The Multipack now meet on the 2nd Saturday of every month at the Old Joint Stock in Birmingham. No more wondering where and when!

Next meeting is Saturday the 9th February. Topics for this discussion include: Mac Expo, Internet Explorer 8 and HTML 5.

New Multipack site and forum

In late November our team set about redesigning the site and giving it a new coat of virtual paint. You can see the results at http://www.multipack.co.uk

As you’re all professional types, we’re sure you’ll let us know your opinions on it. You can do that by signing up to our new forum, now powered by Vanilla.

Paul Returns Home to Walsall!

After two years with Silicon Valley start-up Ning, and a brief stint working alongside Kelly Goto at Gotomedia in San Francisco, he’s biten the bullet and gone freelance. Those that didn’t meet Paul at earlier Multipack meetings in 2005/6, be sure to say hi and welcome him back to the fold. If you need some graphic design talent, check out FourTwo.

Single Dark Ursine

Regular Multipack attendees Gareth and Ross also made the leap to independence in late 2007. They launched their company One Black Bear, providing the whole shebang of design and development services.

Spreading the Standards

In his spare time Matt, our resident access bore, has been training people in standards and accessibility at Media Skills in Digbeth. He’s also been talking at conferences on Libraries and Web 2.0
